Unlike ceramic and porcelain stoneware, which by their nature are more standardized both in terms of formats and fields of application, mosaic (in glass, ceramic or natural stone) presents N variables in relation to its nature and composition, the support on which it is sold (paper or surface film, mesh or silicone behind), the format (20mm, 15mm, 12mm, 10mm, artistic) which, although apparently less varied than ceramics, presents very notable differences relating to the installation technique.

There is already a big difference in terms of technique and processing times between a 20x20 mm on mesh and an equivalent on paper.

Also of primary importance is the preparation of the substrate or installation surface, unlike ceramic tiles, which allow for more or less marked irregularities and tolerances. This applies only to flat surfaces, whether vertical or horizontal. The problems (and the cost) increase significantly if there are edges, niches, curves, and rounded corners, which increase the difficulty factor and require adequate time.
